The sound workshopDrawing with phases — two instruments where relationships between rhythms become pictures
Primer 00 taught you to hear phase: beats, detuning, the moment two rhythms lock. This workshop teaches you to see it. Both instruments here are old, real, and beautiful — a Victorian drawing machine and an eighteenth-century sand-covered plate — and both do the same thing: they take a relationship between oscillations, something invisible and abstract, and turn it into a picture you could hang on a wall. By the end, "two phases locking" will not be a definition. It will be a drawing holding still.
This is the primers track's first multi-section workshop: one topic, enough room to do it properly. It assumes only primer 00.
